Paris (day 1, part 1)

in Paris,photos,travels

Of course, when I’m not thinking too much about language, I’m actually walking around doing things. The first day I was in Paris, I really hit the streets. I spent about fourteen hours wandering through the city.

The Louvre
Coincidentally, it was “Free Museum Sunday” the day after I arrived. The Louvre was both the largest museum and the most expensive (30 Euro) so upon advice, I went there. The Louvre is huge. Not much else to say about that.

I walked through many galleries, but mostly the Greek, Egyptian and Babylonian sections. Those were impressive and some sections, such as Greek pottery, went on for many many rooms. After, I followed the signs towards the Mona Lisa. Along the way, I bumped into two other paintings I was told about that were also created by Di Vinci and have the same smile as the Mona Lisa. I got to see these to paintings, both of John the Baptist, up close. The Mona Lisa? Well, check the picture to see how close I was willing to get…

I also wandered the city on the first day…which I’ll share as soon as I can format the photos and whip up the page to describe it. I hope you enjoy these photos, though!

Ok, so you didn’t get to see the MONA! But I have heard that it is really hard to get close to the broad. More people want to see her than BRITNEY! (or so I hope that’s true!) Still it’s Paris and I am still jealous as all get out.
