Paris (day 6)

Day 6 was a slower day as I was still dealing with a cold that was dragging me down. I still hadn’t been to Notre Dame or the Pompidou Museum so it was time to hit the Metro and get back over to that part of town.

The Pompidou
The Pompidou houses Modern Art, as opposed to the Louvre which has antiquities and classical art. So Dada, Surrealism, and other related/contemporary works were all represented. It’s the kind of art that I like. I tend to really enjoy works that were done after 1960, so the fourth floor of the museum was very much to my liking. The fifth floor held works from the late 1800′s and early twentieth-century. There was much there that i liked, such as some of the Dada and Surrealism, but I enjoyed it less than the new stuff that blends media and technology together in interesting ways.

Also impressive are the views from the Pompidou. See the pictures for more…including one of the Metro (just to be complete with the other “city life” photos I took).

And, only one day left after this….
