Nelson-Kennedy Ledges

I went hiking at the Nelson-Kennedy Ledges over the holiday weekend. I haven’t been there for years and had a good time rediscovering the nooks and crannies, wandering around trying to find the Devil’s Icebox, and for a few moments was very worried that I had actually become stuck in a particularly narrow crevasse (see the last three photos to see the tiny gap I crawled). It’s a fun time hiking, exploring, and looking at some wonderful natural rock formations.

I don’t have much more to say except: if you live in the region and haven’t visited this park, you should plan to go there. Wear good hiking shoes and clothing that can get dirty without any drama. The crevasses are very cool, so water condenses onto the rocks and ground and everything you might touch is a wet, mossy, muddy or all three…

Coventry Street Fair

Good fun tonight at the Coventry Street Fair. Another opportunity to walk the street, filled with people. Another wonderful summer night that started with good food and ended with refreshing drinks. (The story of my life!)

I got to see the henna artist at work. Very cool and very surprising at how fast she was able to work. Creating art that is on a person’s skin seems like it would need very careful hands. She could do this work in just moments. I’m not sure what to say except “I’m amazed.”

Highlight: Having a wonderful intellectual conversation, post-fair, with three beautiful and incredibly smart women at La Cave du Vin, while enjoying a Lagunitas IPA . Heavenly.

Anyhow, here are some photos to enjoy:

Que tal?

Que tal? A local restaurant, Que Tal?, closed yesterday. Maybe the day before. Doesn’t really matter, does it? Closed is closed. Que Tal? was on Coventry since 1995. I was finishing up a functionally useless degree (for my career, not for The World) in engineering, nearby. I would go eat there with friends of mine [...]

Big Decisions

I’ve lived in Cleveland my entire life. My family lives here. I have a good job. My roots are here. For the last few years I’ve lived all over the county. I’ve lived in Collinwood (grew up there), Parma, West Boulevard in Cleveland, and now off Coventry in Cleveland Heights. I’m tired of moving around. [...]
